The SkinPen needle is a device that houses 14 stainless steel, surgical-grade needles with precision depth control, to allow the creation of 98,000 micro-channels in the skin per minute.
The result is effective remodelling of the skin structure.
The microneedling process stimulates collagen & elastin, these are the essential protein fibres in the skin that give it support and elasticity. As we age, these fibres break down leading to fine lines, wrinkles, reduced skin elasticity (bounce back) and larger pores.
There are three phases to the wound repair process:
Phase one: Inflammation
Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to cleanse the wound, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
Phase two: Proliferation
The wound is re-built with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix, a new network of blood vessels develops.
Phase three: Remodelling
The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.

The Results
From your first SkinPen microneedling appointment, you will enjoy glowing, rejuvenated and plump skin. A reasonable amount of redness may be present after the treatment but this usually fades within a few hours to a day allowing you to resume your normal, daily activities.
All results will vary depending on the skin type and concerns you are addressing.
For the best results, we recommend a treatment course of 4 microneedling treatments, 30 days apart.
We provide a post-treatment calming mask infused with zinc and magnesium, and an at-home aftercare gel for use up to 7 days after to aid in the healing process.

Nurse Hannah is a highly experienced General Practice Nurse and independent prescriber with 17 years in the NHS. With a background in aesthetic medicine—having trained at the Royal Society of Medicine and worked with top rhinoplasty surgeon Charles East—she remains committed to ongoing professional development and also teaches fellow medics in the field.

The FAQs
Nurse Hannah will endeavour to keep your discomfort at a minimum during the treatment. You will receive a post treatment cooling mask.
As this is a non-invasive treatment, side effects are rare and minimal. Redness is the most common side effect, and there is also a small risk of bruising and a small amount of bleeding. All side effects will be discussed during your consultation.
This depends on the targeted area. Treatments are from 60 minutes.
Microneedling is best suited to the face & neck, but can also be used for stretch marks and scarring on the body.
